These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at echenlaw.com and the online consultation scheduling system (collectively, the "Site") operated by Eugene Chen Law, PLLC ("we", "us", or "the Firm"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. No legal advice; no attorney-client relationship

The Site contains general information about immigration law and Eugene Chen Law, PLLC. It is not legal advice, and your use of the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship with the Firm. You should not act or refrain from acting on the basis of any content on the Site without seeking advice from a licensed attorney about your specific situation.

An attorney-client relationship with the Firm is formed only after we have evaluated your matter, confirmed there is no conflict of interest, and signed a written engagement agreement with you. Information you submit through the booking system or otherwise transmit to us before that engagement is signed is not protected by the attorney-client privilege in the same manner as communications within an established representation. Please do not send us confidential or time-sensitive information until we have confirmed in writing that we represent you.

2. Online scheduling

Our online scheduling system allows you to request a consultation with the Firm. By submitting a booking, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you are of legal age to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction.

Bookings are subject to confirmation and availability. We may decline, reschedule, or cancel any consultation in our reasonable discretion (for example, in the case of a conflict of interest discovered during intake, scheduling conflicts, or illness). You may reschedule or cancel a pending consultation within the time window stated in your confirmation email, using the link in that email or by contacting our office at info@echenlaw.com or (972) 665-7235.

3. Consultation fees and invoices

Consultation fees, where applicable, are shown on the booking page at the time you select a consultation type. Free consultations have no fee. For paid consultations:

• We will send you an invoice through QuickBooks Online before the meeting, unless we tell you otherwise.
• You agree to pay the fee shown at booking; we will not change the price after you book without your consent.
• If you cancel within the cancellation window, you will not be charged.
• If you do not attend a scheduled paid consultation without timely cancellation, you may still be charged the consultation fee.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Site to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right;
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information;
• Attempt to interfere with the security or proper operation of the Site, the booking system, or our email or calendar systems;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, our internal systems, or another user's information;
• Use automated means to scrape, crawl, or harvest content or available time slots beyond ordinary personal use;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from any portion of the Site;
• Use the Site to send spam, malware, or other unsolicited communications.

5. Third-party services and links

The Site is hosted on Cloudflare. Our booking system uses Microsoft 365 (Outlook calendar and email), QuickBooks Online (billing), and Dialpad (video meetings, where applicable). The Site may also link to third-party websites. Those third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.

6. Intellectual property

The Site, including its text, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, design, and software, is owned by Eugene Chen Law, PLLC or its licensors and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may view, download, and print Site content for your personal, non-commercial use, provided you keep all copyright and other notices intact. You may not otherwise reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, or use the Site or its content without our prior written permission.

7. Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Firm disclaims all warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components, or that any information on the Site is current, complete, or accurate.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Eugene Chen Law, PLLC or its attorneys, employees, or contractors be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your access to, use of, or inability to use the Site, regardless of the legal theory and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event will our aggregate liability arising from or related to the Site exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that may not be limited or excluded under applicable law, including any liability that may arise from our professional responsibilities as licensed attorneys in connection with an attorney-client relationship governed by a separate written engagement agreement.

9. Your indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Eugene Chen Law, PLLC and its attorneys, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

10. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site that is not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County or Collin County, Texas, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be noted prominently. Continued use of the Site after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
